The nearest airport is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU) in Guwahati, Assam — which is well connected with daily direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, and other major Indian cities via IndiGo, Air India, SpiceJet, and Akasa Air.
From Guwahati to Shillong: ~125 KM, approximately 2.5–3 hours drive via NH6 (one of India's most scenic highway drives through rolling hills and Umiam Lake).
By Train: Guwahati Railway Junction (GHY) is the nearest major railway station. Rajdhani Express from Delhi takes ~17 hours, and Saraighat Express from Kolkata takes ~12 hours.
